❤️ Love in Action
Parenting With Purpose
Modern culture tells us love looks like comfort.
And, that good parenting means keeping kids happy, avoiding conflict, and protecting them from struggle.
But…real love is deeper than that. Much deeper.
Real love is intentional.
It’s gritty.
And, it’s daily.
Parenting with purpose means you stop asking: “What’s easiest today?”
…and start asking: “Who am I raising?”
Because love isn’t about convenience.
It’s about formation. And, you are responsible for forming your kids - raising arrows!
Love Is Training, Not Entertaining
We live in a world that celebrates ease. Screens instead of conversations. Distractions instead of discipline. Comfort instead of character.
But love in action says something different:
Learn to work.
Learn to serve.
Learn perseverance.
Learn gratitude.
Learn how to fail safely and try again.
Your job as a parent is not to create comfort all the time. You’re here to raise capable humans. Productive people. Good people.
That’s love in action.
Purposeful Parenting Is Daily, Not Occasional
The thing is that LOVE doesn’t live in big speeches or perfect moments.
It lives in:
chores
conversations in the car
helping siblings
finishing what they start
showing up when they don’t feel like it
apologizing when you mess up
praying together
building things with their hands
Because, purpose shows up in the ordinary.
It’s woven into routines, expectations, and relationships.
This is exactly what you should practice when you homeschool. Homeschooling is learning that blends academics with real life — science with art, leadership with service, knowledge with responsibility.
Not abstract education.
It’s embodied learning.
Love Builds Legacy
It’s important to remember that every decision you make is planting something in your children’s lives:
discipline grows self-control
consistency creates security
service teaches humility
responsibility builds confidence
Your children won’t remember every worksheet. But they will remember:
how you handled hard days
whether your words matched your actions←that’s a biggy!
if home felt safe
if they were trusted with real responsibility
That’s legacy. The legacy you want to build.
That’s love that lasts.
Love With Backbone
Love isn’t permissive.
Love holds boundaries.
Love teaches accountability.
Love corrects with compassion.
Love believes children are capable of growth.
Love prepares them for the world, not hides them from it.
Parenting with purpose means choosing character over convenience, formation over feelings, and long-term impact over short-term peace.
It’s not flashy.
But it’s powerful.
Roots Deep. Wings Strong.
Love isn’t letting children stay small. Even though my heart aches for those toddler years.
Love is giving them roots deep enough to stand
and wings strong enough to fly.
That’s parenting with purpose.
That’s love in action.
There is no story without people in it.
And this one is better when more voices are heard — yours included. If something here resonated, challenged you, or made you nod along quietly, I’d love to hear from you. Comment, reply, share this with a friend who’s also questioning, building, or rebuilding.
If you want to keep walking this road together, consider subscribing here on Substack (free or paid), and join me over on YouTube as well — where the conversations are just as thoughtful, and occasionally a little messier (because real life usually is).
Thanks for being part of the story. Let’s keep telling it — together.
